Just wondering why it is common to deglaze rather than to hone or rebore, then use oversized pistons on Renault engines, is this something to do with a maximum bore size of the engines/sleeves? (i'm not familar with these engines yet as it's only 2nd week of owning the car )

Thankyou,
Matthew

Theres no readily available over-sive rings or pistons (std guize).

Bores should be honed to freshen up the bore surface and allow better sealing upon break in of new rings. This should be achievable without casuing detriment to the piston/bore clearance on a std set-up.

If your going for forged pistons, they are available on most sizes..usually in 0.5mm increments. The bores should be machined and finnished to the size at which the manufacturer (or builder) recomends best for that piston.
