Thats how much I've spent on the willy this week. It better love me forever I'm telling ya!

These new engine mounts suck though - the entire car vibrates in idle so much more than it used to!

Gearchanges are pure bliss though now 8) 8)

I'm proper skint mate - this is all on the card!

Anything that was wrong got fixed - minor things most of them but needed doing..

Water pump, cam belt, pulleys, guides etc..

Basically I drove it in and told them what I wanted fixing and the first time EVER it was all done!

14.5 hours labour lol

Different car now totally - possibly new shocks in a few months and its 100% bar the paint and a few interior trim bits I'll be getting over the coming months..

Just the torsion bar left to raise :D

Standard rocks!

I tell a lie fella its all of them uprated..

Its not huge but its noticable - wishful thinking may make them settle down but at the end of the day its 100% than what it was so I don't have to do anything straight away (gotta pay that bill first!).

Its great while driving just a bit 'bobbly' while waiting at the traffic lights

Rich
23-02-2007, 14:54
get a normanl one, knock the rubber out of the middle and rotate it 90 degrees, and you have 1 uprated dogbone mount ;)

Daz.
23-02-2007, 21:55
bugger it i'm keeping them - its hardly noticable and the car is stupidly better now - I can't stress how much more precise everything is with new mounts so all you soggy basts better swap over!

I could deal with a little more noise if it gave a better gear change :)

Apart from twisting the original by 90 degree's where can you get an uprated dog bone?

Also.. i noticed on my car that there is a hoop for lifting the engine out on the drivers side near the brake cylinder. There are also 2 bolts sticking out with nothing on them... Thinking a bit like the mini's "ultimate engine stop", maybe a bulkhead to engine damper could be put there :D

Noooooo... Foo!

Auto-services near me - formerly Hendersons and where i've been going for many years - had a fall out a few months ago with the old owner while it was changing hands but the new lads 100 times better, only place I trust to do work on the car.

Mounts were bought from Stromba - uprated and have only done 18k miles as did the springs that are on the car now 8)

I've always wondered what could be made of that hoop :D
