Hi all...

Im planning a valver in the next few months.. wondering if i could get some uprated cams for the valver, and then once i find a sutable megane bottem transfer it all over.

Are the vlaver cams the same as the willi ones?

I remember reading the valver ones are narrower?

theres an F7R megane with a rear end shunt in my local scrapper, mite go tomorrow mornin and see if the engines sill there

i had cams in my valver but to be totally honest with you for the price it cost me/my bro, it would be worth buying a full williams engine and have bout the same power

one thing i could imageon would be easyer to source on the forums is valver heads!

80 for one of them?

what should i look for in second hand engines??

Going rate for valver heads is roughly 50 quid mate- thats what i paid anyway! Its difficult to tell what condition an engine is in if its not in a car and running unless you start taking it apart to see the bores etc.

Just general things can be checked for like external oil leaks, general tidyness of engine. If you're just buying a b/e then you can at least look for any wear to the bores/piston crowns etc. Also ask for any documentation to back up mileage/engine service history etc.

ive got a bare megane F7R 710 block with crank caps you can have.. i'll also hone it for you, or a rebore if u want to fit larger pistons?

Also the head, which i am going to gasflow at work, 3 angle seats, skim etc....

Was gona collect the bits to put it in my car, but im selling up shortly... gona get an ax and put a fairly high spec vts engine in it probably!! ;)

So it's ok to use valver cams in f7r's? im sure one of the techies on here said that they were the wrong profile got three sets of valver cams here, 2 valver heads and a gasflowed valver head which is going on my 2ltr, just having decisions about cams tho...

they are alright to use but your better off with a set of performance cams really

stan

profiles are slightly different yes. you talking maybe 0.5mm lift difference....its not massive.

if you want more performance, you want better cams.

What are the options to having a set of valver ones reground? would that be worth it??
