View Full Version : Williams brakes
I have brought new discs and pads alround for my williams. After spending all day today drilling the bolts out to get my front discs off would like to know how hard it is to change back discs?. Heard you have to take the bearings out wiv only limited selection of tools at mo would it just be easier to get a garage to fit them or try myself in morning?

If you find out let me know, i wanna do mine
my mate was saying they same on golf and he broke bearings trying to press them in need to do it soon as rather do it myself as need money to insure it tomorrow as weather is getting better :D
most people just get the bearings pressed in at their local garage...
have you bought the bits yet? Renault sell the discs with the bearing already in and by the time you've bought other discs and bearings and had them done it end up being cheaper from renault!
bought the whole lot the other day so the discs and pads are sat in my car so it may just be easier to get the bk discs done at garage
they are very easy to change yourself, get the bearings and have them pressed in, dont reuse your old ones, as they tend to fail after that !

You need aprx 1.5 tons of pressure to remove the bearing......so good luck :P

Rear bearings can be smacked in with a large socket an old extension bar and a hammer, just knock them in square and the right way around
