Hi all,

any owners on here had there williams tuned to over say 170 bhp, if so did you have to upgrade the standard clutch to be able to take the extra power?

mine was 200 or just over....boggo std 1.8/williams clutch from factors.

on this build im just using a 2.0 megane fly and std megane clutch.

I think the standard clutch handles the power very well although some people prefer to use the uprated r5 clutch. Tbh i think the gearbox is more likely to give in than the clutch, if you wanted to be sure then the uprated jobbie would be up to it- not dear either iirc.

Obviously all of this depends on how you treat the clutch!

i ran std clutch for about 2 years, car was pretty much std then too, but it got lots of hammer....1/4 launches etc.

iv since uuprated the clutch with the 5gtt version, and added a healthy dose of whoopass under the bonnet.....2 years, still lots of 1/4 launches etc. as said above...its outlasted about 3 boxes now lol.
