have been stripping the front end of my car down in preperation for having the engine out of it and I noticed damage to the drivers side suspension turret welds. When the previous owner had crashed up a kerb the welds must have popped and the turret has moved slighty. The damaged welds are from the turret to the inner wing and from the turret to the bulkhead. I had a closer look today and everything else seems ok. Is this the sort of thing that can be fixed? I was planning on haveing new inner wings/sills put on the car before it was ever going to be running anyway can i have this done at the same time?

cheers

i wouldnt be driving that mate....it could snap clean off at any time.

Best bet is to remove the engine and subframe and get it seam welded back up if it will pull straight....if not you might need some inner and turret repair sections if they are avaliable.

also make some strengthening plates as fitted to the group N motors.

yeh the car sits in my garage just now, not been driving it or planning on it soon lol.

I want to try fix it since i went to such a faff to get it in the first place.

Was planning to get new inner wings on it at some point as they are quite rusty.

Gonna taket the engine out in the next few weeks will put more pics up then.
