What products can I use to clean this panel filter, had it now for 12k miles and think it will need a clean?

Also where can I get the cleaning products from?

apparently they dont ever need cleaning...

just take the bits off the outside, thats what the fella from ITG said to me yesterday, because its foam it has a high dirt build up before air flow is affected

Id clean it mate. Sales men tend to talk bollocks.

Dirt will undoubtedly clog the pores and hinder airflow.

It says how to clean it Danny in the fitting instructions. Still got mine at home if you want me to have alook. I think it said either a proper cleaner or soak it in petrol.

thats what I thought but it doesn't say what proper cleaner, was thinking the petrol idea, but thats not too cheap either!!!

Surely the dirt in it would be from the road, ie soil and flies, not sure it that shit would come off in petrol.

the oil that they use on ITG filters is Silkolene Foam Filter Oil, so clean it with some petrol, then re oil it with that
