any ideas on prices from that place?
well strip down and reassemble was around 90 quid. so then depends on parts etc. when he did mine i added a limited slip diff shot peened and polished gears and modified selectors and circlips.

mind me asking how much that came to and is that the best thing to do to give it a bit of a beter chance of lasting ?
not really. i think if he rebuilds you a standard box its got a good chance of lasting. when these cars were new there was not a spate of blown gear boxes. i think a lot of times its poor workman ship of secondhand boxes be sold as recons and them hoping it will last the warrenty period. i,m sure if you have a chat with bernie he will tell you whats needed. the box he built me he guaranteed to over 400bhp as long as i don,t run slicks. my box was 1200 but the lsd was 800 of that.
