Whenever I change gear or pull away theres a slight knocking noise coming from underneath the car and then when travelling theres a slight squeak coming from underneath the gearstick area. had the car pulled over the other night with the engine running and the squeak was intermittent. Could the squeak be the gear selector touching something? Any ideas on what the knock could be please? Thanks in advance, Steve :D

knock could be a gearbox mount or even an engine mount. but im sure more qualified personel will be along sometime soon

thats what I was thinking dude. can you get uprated gearbox/engine mounts then?

don,t think you can. used to be group N mounts but don,t think there available any more. you can get an uprated dog bone and fit a forth extra mount though

dogbone can be done for free. just remove the bush and turn though 90 degrees. the forth mount is fitted as standard to some 19,s so can be sourced cheaply then just fit a new rubber bush. about a tenner. the other two mounts just get new from renault. can look them up if need be for you.

also check the down pipe is not knocking on the bolt which holds the dog bone mount in.

Also knocking on pulling off can be caused by worn ball joints, less then 5 quid to fix

I get a clunk sometimes... turns out it's my exhaust knocking. Could be similar thing here.
