aye but space savers are usually only 3/4 inches wide, rather than the 6.5/7 of an alloy.

get the scales out, or ditch the spare all together.

Don't feel 100% safe though sometimes.. don't like the thought of a real emergency coming into play and I'm sat there waiting for mr rac man because I wouldn't run a spare...

never ran a spare on my valver for years, just a can of tyre weld.......................luckily it was never needed :lol:

I thought space savers (the ones that look like vespa wheels) typically weigh less than 5 kg (that's with tyres on). I was looking for one for wife's car sometime ago, but the shipping was a killer.

dont liek tyre weld, means you cant repair the tyre once it comes off!

Never had a spare wheel...wouldn't fit under witht the big box i had so i had a can of that tyre weld stuff.

My Elise don't have a spare (where would it go :lol: ) so as std they come with a can of tire weld mounted on a bracket under the bonnet ;)
