its an old car, you've got to expect a bit of rust, just get a slide hammer and they'll come out easy ;)

i had this problem when doing mine,
take the caps off and spray a bit of wd40 or similar product onto the bars and give it a few days then should come out easy, have you tried this??

If you soak it in penetrating oil for a few days, applying every night, it should come free easy enough with the socket method.

Yer tried the socket method and the socket cracked under the strain...

a 30 minute job on these clio's turn into a 3 Day headache

i will have a go with it at weekend if you want to come up for a small fee( i'm not a garage so i dont charge garage prices) (rochdale based)

none have beaten me yet!!!!

get some double TT penetrating oil tomorrow and fill the caps with it them re-fit....

get under the car and spray where the torsion bar goes into the middle.

i will do the rest!!!!!

done pikie's,nyks and my own and none have took more than 2 hours :)

Its got to be double TT, or penetrating oil. WD40 is a lubricant rather than a penetrating oil as such.

get some heat on it!! usually the first time they need to come out they are rather tight :@ but spray penetrating oil on them a couple days before as said, i have a home made tool for just the job, can do it without taking the back wheels off lol
