what are the rules for cages and using them on the track?
depends on the series your racing in. for track days you do not need one at tall. for a proper track weapon there as much about shell/chassis stiffness etc as safety. proper weld in cage as above welds in on twenty eight points is triangulated to front struts and rear beam mounting points etc.

Depends what you're using the car for. Unless your using the car in competition I wouldn't get more than an 8 pointer if I wasnt using the car in competition as it'll add enough strength to keep the car safe and add more rigidity, while not weighing a ton.
Matt
most use 10 point OMP ones that ive come across. for a while u could pick them up new on ebay for 300 notes. price mite be up a little from that now.
come in 2 sections which bolt together. u can bolt them in or weld them to the floor. or both.
dont weigh stupid amounts (32 kgs) and do seem to be good.
the cup racers ran devil cages iirrc, but they are hard to come by.
custom cages seem to be a good idea also if u dont like the idea of fittin them yourself. saftey devices one seems to be the market leader in terms of custom cages.
I had a custom one made by Martin Short ~~Rollcentre @ Cambridge ,Came complete with MSA certificate ~~ ANY motorsports events, weld in,as above £1200 plus vat.
Sparco weld in ones available from Demon Tweeks etc etc .
I spoke to these guys at the Autosport Show,They are about 5 miles from me.They will make any type of cage, the price is dependant on the quantity, I am happy to take some pictures of both cages in my cars and get a price ~~ or contact him youself,Fitting weld in cages prperly is a time consuming job ~~ The shell is all they want ~~~ so EVERYTHING has to be stripped out. This company have the latest "all singing and dancing ~~ cutting /bending machine"

I have some pictures somewhere, will post when I find them

depends if ur using it for racing. some series' and the regs, dependant on the class u wanna run in..........wont let u take the cage off any susp mountings.....so a brace up to the strut tops is a no no
that yellow cage is something else.

what you all reckon to that?
It says no sunroof.. dont pretty much all clios have one!
Cant you install it and not easily access/use the sunroof?
Andy
williams and lesser models dont have sunroof. might foul the sunroof surround.not sure

most of the valvers have sunroofs tho dont they?
yes but not all of them. either that of change the roof skin.
it wont matter. i assume if you have it stripped for a cage to go in. may make a difference on phase 2's etc with elec sunroofs but i can garuantee phase 1's will be ok.
scap that, that looks like a hardcore one for williams/non sunroof cars. if its a track car just rivet a cover over the sunroof hole.

As stew says just get rid of the sunroof and rivet a sheet over it.
Try custom cages http://www.customcages.co.uk/cages2.htm their work is stunning
Matt
also expensive and in kit form.^^^^^^^^
they do look the dogs when they done tho.
