Have a strange one when the car is cold ie left over night , And i come
to start it i hear like a knocking noise for about 5 mins when the engine is
running . So on inspection the Aux Belt is jumping on its rollers , But when
i spay wd40 on the belt it then stops jumping around and is ok ...

So basiccaly what i want to do is change the belt , but you cant even see
down were the belt is never mind get your hand down to change it..

So any advice on how you change the belt ie is there any easy ways to
get it off to put a new one in etc

any advice do's and dont's would be great

also any ideas why its jumping on it roller cheers Darren

- Headlight out, grill off, probably easier with bonnet off too..
- allen key and spanner on the tensioner wheel to un-tension the belt
- Off it comes (note its positioning around the wheels so you put it back on right)

Dont think its any harder than that...just a bit of a squeeze, but going in through the headlight hole makes it easier..

As for why its jumping, it may not be the belt itself but a siezed roller!

It might just need tightening and not replacing.

yeah isnt too hard to do 30 min job not much to it just take out the head light and untenshion the belt with the pully.

last time i did mine i cheated and used an adjustable to tenshion the belt and then tighten with an allan key

Mine used to do that - was down to the powersteering pump stalling causing belt to slip, changed that and all is sweet.

Exaclty the same happened to me, screeching on full lock.

Just tighten the belt up.
