Dash dials

I opened the speedo clocks to change the needles and i noticed that when you are moving a needlle to a diferent position and leave it,returns to the first status.When i remove the needle,change the dial (put the blue face on) and move the needle....it had no return.When i connnect the plugs,the water temp was not working.Do you have to do something specific when you do a job like this because i damaged two temp gauges and cannot find what is going on.....

use a fork to pull the needles and be very carefull.
the reason they stay where they are is probably
because the new blue dial paper is not sitting flush
on the plastic backing :idea:

At the first indicator i broke the needle but the next was out easier.BUT when i move the needle from the zero,it stays where i put it with the blue paper fitted correctly.....

i don't think the water temperature one can be removed, they always break if you try..
