Hi all,

Just assembled my crane, load leveler and engine stand yesterday (as work was closed due to snow, shame!) I was wondering what the best way to remove the engine and swap it.

Should i leave the gearbox in or take it out for the swap?

If i need it i will be changing the clutch too, as mine has been ragged quite a bit :(

My head removal and clean wanst enough to sort the problems, so have got me another engine (on saturday) which is a straight swap, so i can overhaul my old one and still have a car that moves.

Also gives me the option of getting a willi lump to play with, as i wont have to restor it on the floor etc, ready to put into my dream car!

we shall see...

so, best way to do the swap?

Andy

pull it out all as one, pull the box and loom out with the engine, then strip it off out the car and build up the new lump out the car, makes life ALOT easier. I'd get a new clutch tbh, just because its out and you may aswell do it.
