not sure used to do the same sort of mods webers when tuning minis etc but not sure if the standard inlet is that restrictive to see any real gains or ben r and stan would be selling them

hmmm  i keep thinking it wont but then there is always the chance that it will give more hp? im confused

will give more power if that bit is restrictive on your engine/set up

yeah i'm guessing it'll aid a turbo for example..

It'll do less on a turbo than it would NA.

I wouldnt bother lads

Inlet Airflow is best when it has as little turbulence as possible.

If you have sharp edges inside the inlet passage these all create tiny vortices (plural of vortexes) which can aid or destroy the flow path.

I have read a published paper on the turbo of one Ford Rally car (think the actual paper was written about 8-10 years ago now)...

Within a turbo - there was a screw head - which was causing flow restriction - a guy at Imperial University - designed a cone to sit on top of this Screw head - Turbo efficiency increased by 1.5% iirc).

His actual design was used by Ford rally team on their turbos.

An indepth study (CFD simulations estimate on that kind of geometry would be about 200hours of CAD/CFD work) are required to the flow paths - and even then u only get an estimated result (as their is still no perfect solution to navier stokes equations / turbulence models) and it is from there you will be able to assess whats causing restriction and what needs improving via smoothed/chamfered surfaces.

In other words - as it stands now - no one can say what will happen in terms of power gains....unless its tested / simulated and the results analysed.

So will someone buy it and test it please :D

so that post was completely pointless cos you don't know what the effects of it will be? 8) :P

Headtune will do that to your TB for £50inc return postage...

edit: after cleaning my TB and noticing improved TB response i think it would be worth £50

Bought PGTI the other night and the orange 106 in it has a ported throttle body. Not much use but thought i'd let you know! lol.
