Looks like a charge cooler, never seen one like it before, even at shows.

Must be a universal aftermarket jobby.

twin water bottles

One for the normal coolant system, one for the charge cooler. In your terms hooligan, a charge cooler is a replacement for an intercooler, when there is little space. (To cool the turbo - lol)

as above, the extra bottle looks like a charge cooler set up, never seen that before tho!

not just little space as they can be more efficient than inter coolers

Agreed but in experience, charge carriers are not so clever for high boost applications, a big intercooler, say like an RS500 one will cool the charge better than a charge carrier would, as boost temps raise so does the water temp around the charge carrier.

Yes, latent heat can be a problem with them, but efficiency for size, they are generally better.

I still think its off a 4x4 matey.

What country is the car from?

i know what it is just wondering what its from..ie visit to scrap yard lol.

the r5 inter cooler supplied with the car is nice and small, albeit not quite as adequate as i would like. lol

PACE set ups seem right enough...

If i was to visit a scrap yard, what cars could i rip a charge cooler set up from?..

or would you think that a decent enough inter cooler would be satisfactory

The problem with an intercooler on the clio is location.

If your gonna pikey it ( ) and do a scap yard trawl.....then i cant really think of any road car you would see there!

a 2wd cossie intercooler will fit behind bumper with minimal trimming, they are metal ended but the problem you'd be faced with is piping it up..

they run in 1 end an out the other...can be picked up for around the £30 mark.

just a suggestion,see passionford :)

Are you having a passenger seat gunner? If not put the resovoir in the footwell. Get somebody to weld a water tight box round a cossie 2wd intercooler, with it piped in with a leccy water pump etc. If you filter the water coming from the resovoir you can then part fill the resovoir with ice to keep the water even cooler.

Seen that done on a few hillclimb cars wouldn't last ages but good for a few laps round a track.

check out http://chargecooler.co.uk/

Dave at AVT will usually sort you out with a good price and they're an awesome design.

If you want a front mount i looked into a ford aftermarket item which had both inlet and outlet on the same side. You could place this infront of the radiator. Move the battery to the boot, and run it from the turbo to the bottom inlet on the FMIC then out the top into the TB. ??

battery is sorted, it is going in to the boot, my next door neighbour is an electrician and has supplied the cable FOC.

yeah they are really good

thats it in a 5 bay to show you the size, they are small but can cope with big boost and high temps, pre rad has its own fan :D

If you're interested then Dave is on RTOC and i can put you in touch.
