Hi,
Doing a few choice mods to the Valver to give it alittle extra power. Dont wanna go to overboard, or more to the point I cant as im saving like a bitch at present.

So far its got or soon to have done:

Magnex System + de-cat pipe.

Williams Manifold - sanded down, rust proofed, heat wrapped and sprayed over with Hi-heat coating.

Avo 25mm Lowering springs and rear torsion bar down slightly.

"Superchipped" ECU.

ITG Panel filter.

Trying to keep it super original on the in/outside, and may purchase another set of turbines to get polished up. When I have somewhere I can work on my car!

Was thinking that, but as I wouldnt be able to fit them myself the costs would be sky high! Plus then surely i would need another ECU, or to at least have my current chip remapped if possile to get the full potential out of them. Its a Superchips chip. :)

you will need a re map to get the most out of cams.

Why not go for a lightened and balanced fly wheel if you dont wanna spend loads on cams.

How much we talking for that? I take it by the  thats its still a fair ammount we are talking :)

What gains are to be had with this in mind?

I think mine was 80 odd quid iirc.

not sure what the gains are, but felt a difference. I think a few people have them on here, do a search.

Getting mine lightened at the mo and the complete assembly dynamically balanced. Cost £30 to lighten flywheel plus cost of balancing

lightened flywheel will make the engine rev up quicker but you get less engine braking..

Theres no comparing cams to a lightened fly...

as always depends how much youve got to spend mate. Ideally...cams and headwork.

u shud get more engine braking..as with the acceleration....a lighter flywheel will spin up quicker, and likewise will slow down faster.

diesels have enormous heavy flywheels..hence why the revs take an age to drop...more weight .more momentum...more time taken to come to a stop/slow down.

head and cams they can always be moved over

2.0L f7r.
if your engine is out, then you might as well lighten the flywheel.

lightened flywheel as a stand alone mod, its a pain taking your gearbox off and removing the nuts for the slight advantage it will give..

cammed valver , set up properly with vernier pullies would be up to you, they run around standard willy pace, but then cam an f7r and it will be a different matter.

2 lives old beast ran Kent cams and pullies. the car could make a fool of a standard Williams...

what gains would you get from fitting cams and pullies on a williams?
