View Full Version : De cat ...what to do with lamba sensor
With a De cat you should run a Lamba sensor? yes or no?
Ive heard this somewhere ....leaving it for the gurus
As there is no cat the lamba sensor is not needed and gives false messages to the ECU ...as there is no cat in place
Most prob bull :? :? :? :?: :? :? :?
leave it in. iv run with it disconnected a while...cold mornings the worst lol. runs lik a bag o shit
no difference. the lambda is before the decat, so it knows no different!
i think ul find that the ecu does know the diffrence wen the lambdas disconnected....lol.
Yeah a difference when its disconnected, but no difference if u have a cat or not as its before it.

As dan says as its before the cat it makes no difference so leave it disconnected. If you're decatting a modern car which has a lambda sensor before and after the cat you have to **** about with the ECU as the 2nd lambda will send false readings to the ECU causing the car to run shit.
Matt
i meant leave it connected! the lambda knows no different if its got a cat or not.
Just the answers i was looking for :D
Cheers peeps
