standard battery is an 063 type which will have around 400 CCA

heavy duty battery is an 065 type which should have upwards of 500 CCA

Thanks guys mines a 063 and doesnt seem to do the job properly , saying that it may just be fooked but its only 3 years old ..

May go for a 075 , Will the alternator charge the 075 battery ok as with more amperge will the 075 battery put a strain on it..

cheers guys Darren

an 075 is a good heavy duty battery, and is usually quite cheap

ive got an uprated alternator on mine so no problems about recharging the 065 thats fitted to my car

the 065 size is listed for diesels though so i think it probably would be fine on a normal petrol car as long as your sensible

I had a FIAMM 80Ah/720CCA battery on the standard alternator with no problems at all. Back on 65Ah now. Don't think the 80Ah was any better for my usage, as I typically replace batteries about 1.5 years anyway.

I got a 065 from GSF before xmas. Seems to do the job fine and only came in at £35.
