bored and stroked ?

MAXIBOY

but if it stroked and bored then its really a bored f7r lump. but fitting a f7r crank in an f7p block is major work. have you checked the block. are you sure its not an f7r block with a f7p engine number. also an over bore too 2.1 will leave you with tiny gasket between cylinders not good on a turbo. hope i,m wrong though

Why are there no pics of it up yet, why is it listed in projects if it has been bought like that?

If an F7P was bored out to 2.1, there would be no block left!!

Reichard sell 2.1 dished pistons ;)

MAXIBOY
03-02-2007, 19:28
all i was saying is that it is major work to put a 2.0 crank in a 1.8 block. grinding away webs at the bottom of the bores. easy just to start with a 2.0 block as these are stronger anyway. did not say that anyone did not sell 2.1 dished pistons but these would be for a 2.0 not a 1.8 engine. and if you look at the amount of metal between the cylinders its not a good idea to take to much away as it will increase the risk of head gasket failure. more so on a boosted lump

Lee Keefy
03-02-2007, 19:43
a thinner bore wall = easier escape for a rod especially on a turbo'd lump

bitter experience tells me that

I'm having my roof re skinned
I'm having a full respray
or
I'm building a turbo clio over the winter.

One of the above projects that nobody ever see's.

^^^ Just what I was going to say. Saw one on autotrader that mentioned a 2.1 litre turbo but the advert seemed a bit muddled so I didn't really think anything more of it - sounds like a potential bargain though.

All I was sayin is that if I'd just found a 2.1 turbo'd clio, for £700, I'd want the whole f**kin world to see it, I'd be that made up, esp if it is mint with no rust as is said. With it being a project I would want to post pictures as it is, to show what work I have done to it.

i have some pics i'll post up tomorrow night. It is not a wind up mission on this occasion.
ive had a good chat with 2live, so when i split the block , it will be inspected, and measured accordingly. The main thing is i have the entire kit to turbo any F7 block. and have Wilwood Superlite 6 pots + braided lines. I also have grey leathers, and a shell that has no rust. The rear bumper has a few scratches.
The ecu has been spliced and a separate superchips box unit is present. the box has various com ports for lap top remapping.
their is also a spare head containing Kent Cams, no pullies. definitely Performance Jobs as i measured the Lobes against standard items.
also has 4 new tyres on.
There is only one key which is a £5 cut jobbie. so will need to revamp the locking system lol-
when the project starts the pictures will be up.
I plan to discard the loom and use my own set up. using a turbo map on ecu chip.
hope this enlightens you all.

The reskinning of my hybrid roof will be going ahead , just at this time my main priority is sorting this out.

this is my last toy with clios before i settle down with an everyday family man car. eitehr way i will keep 1 clio for the track and days with the IAM.

To make it 2100cc on 93mm stroke crank (f7r), you would need a bore of 84.7mm...this would defo lead to sealing issues.

If you had a bore of 84mm, you would need a stroke of 94.7mm...which means new pistons with altered pin height to suit the stroke.

I would hazzard a guess at it using a williams crank, and having an 84mm bore...making it 2060cc, and classed as 2100cc.

I would keep to standard 2.0 geometry, and if money allows, get some decent pistons and rods.

what turbo is on it? what header....the log effort?

VIPERONE
05-02-2007, 01:19
Dunno what the turbo is, i didn't take too much note, will let you know next week.

Its got forged pistons etc, i will verify this claim when i strip it

looks like the car has been set up to run in conjunction with the 5th injector. it has been changed to an bosch 803 jobby,. the rest of the injectors are standard. not a problem, they'll be removed and replaced with T5s, and then i'll burn off the turbo map...
