started helping a mate with his 1.8 as the bottom end had destroyed its self decided to put a megan bottom end on hasnt gone to badly but i tried to get the engine and gearbox back in the bay today and it seemed almost impossible. It was a tight fit coming out but it just wont go bak in
is there any specail way to get them back in or is it just line it up and hope ??
tip the engine on its side
then lower it and straighten it up as it drops in
Disclaimer.. i have never done this BTW

which side ?
put it in gearbox end first, you may find it easier to lower the subframe slightly, and it'll fall in.

Yeh tilt the gearbox down at a pretty sharp angle as the end casing slightly sits under the inner wing, then when lowering, i found i had to push it further over more than it needed to go becuase at the other side of the bay the pulleys were catching the inner wing...then it was a case of giggling it about on the crane to get all the engine mount bolts lined up ok..
