Mk 2 1.2 RN Oil Pressure

Hello,

My bro has just got a problem with his S Reg 1.2RN, the oil pressure light comes on with the stop light when the car idles when up to temprature. Albeit intermittantly.

Bloke at garage reckons its the oil pressure switch, does this seem likely.

Hes paranoid its gonna go bang?

Any ideas?

Has the oil level actually been checked? might be low on oil.

Yeah oil been checked, looks rather old, but it isnt loosing it
