gear stick movin

Ok its been bugging me for about a year now sence ive brought the car.. ive changed the top mount, an dog bone mount.. so much smoother to drive but the gear stick keeps movin!! :cry: :cry:

any advice???

theres a lil insert where to linkage connects onto the gearbox, make sure thats actually in there bcos the gearstick will move then. If its missing u can get one out of any gearbox (mk1 gearbox anyway) as i robbed mine from a mk1 1.2

also there,s a spring fitted between the bottom of the gearstick and the car that limits movement. check its still there

you will never eliminate the movement from the lever.

The main reason its a solid rod to the bottom of the box not cables.

So if you don't want it to move buy another car/don't drive it.
