The TV licence fee will rise by 3% over each of the next two years, Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell has announced.

Ms Jowell told the Commons the deal will see the current fee rise from £131.50 to £135.50 on 1 April, then rise gradually to £151.50 in 2012.

On demand is the future, i.e. over the net.

Although i'm sure they will try and screw you over that as well when it takes off "main stream".

I wouldnt bother with a TV license if I had my way, just watch what I want when I want over the net from on demand suppliers.

It's definately not a very efficient or fair way of paying for what you use (like most things in this country, actually  ).

Just don't pay for it I managed to not pay for it from september last year till april. Finally was asked to a meeting and it was either buy one or be arrested, so I bought one, had it 2 months then took it back to the post office and redeemed it.

Doing the same this year.
