What's going on here?

Noticed the gunk (only bit of the whole car that's dirty!) and then saw that there's a clean threaded hole that looks like it should have something?

Are you supposed to be able to see the clutch? I guessed that it was missing a cover or something.

been down and checked mine just for you. i have no threaded hole just a cut out there . theres no fixing between engine and box. yes you can see the flywheel. try the oil if you can. engine oil is thinner though its prob gear oil as these boxes do tend to leak a little. try and check the gearbox/ clutch housing if thats dry is just an external oilseal

Everywhere else is bone dry mate. It's quite a thick gunk as well. Maybe there was spillage from somewhere when the clutch was done recently?

best bet clean it off then keep an eye on it to see if its leaking
