If I removed the centre silencer??

I can hear a blowing and I think it is the centre bit. So, rather than get a new silencer, I was just going to have a straight pipe welded in place.

Will it be UBER loud, or just a bit louder??

I am also running a de-cat and magnex backbox

As the magnex is designed to run with a mid box I reckon that will be quite loud!

i debated this as my centre box is constantly tapping

i have been told its stupid loud and that on longish journeys it is just uncomfortable, i have been told by one owner that his ears ring

Pikie, it will cost you the same for a centre box from Greenwoods as it will for a straight through pipe. Prob about 20/30 nickers.

well mine was stright through and it was so loud i decided to put on another zorst, like to be quietish when i drive down the road, i had people turning and looking all the time with it on !

Without the centre box i guess it pops alot of overrun?

i removed the centre box on my scorpian and welded a straight pipe in and its not that loud at all, not much difference than with a box, just really raspy and the odd flame every now and then :D

I have a Magnex system with mid box obviously and it it hardly pops on overrun. Only if i tap the magic pedal, which is more of a boom at the right RPM!

I dont get any proper overrun popping itself, its manual :P

I took that route, straight through from manifold to down pipe... the car will be very loud, after my neighbours complained, and i saw curtains twitching every time i started the car up, i had a center silencer box put on.

Is that for the track car Lee? If so you'll have to watch out for those regulations! Sure it would sound beastly though!

yeah watch if its on a track car. tbh u want free flowing but quiet for a track car.

ive fabricated a baffle that i can fit to quieten things down a bit!!

old powerflow tip from the legend that is "shan" 8)

Mine is a straight through magnex, the baffles went in the centre so i jsut had it replaced with straight pipe. Its really not that loud! I'll do a quick vid and post it up and you can judge for yourself! But its not painfull anyway!

i do need to find out some noise regs if anyone knows for different tracks just to plan ahead (silencer or not) and will be D B ing the car just to make sure.

a vid would be great pal,

mine is aP F special,1 small front box,medium middle and rear boxes,no cat and a f**kin orrible tailpipe,not bothered about that though as it will soon be on its roof anyway, LOL

very deep sounding but not overly loud.will prob go raspy with boxes out 8)

i'm in the same situation as you guys, baffles have gone in my magnex centre section, think i'm going to nip over to powerflow and get a pipe straight through, i'll let you know how i get on :D
