My car is broke AGAIN!!! does anybody no what this is??

its the thing next to the airfilter, its sucking in air making it rev high?!
does anyone have a spare one??

its the idle control valve, bypasses throttle body and allows air onto the engine so it can idle.

does your car keep cutting out? if so clean the shutter inside the valve with carb cleaner and wd40 it, shud be fine then! just look down the opening at either side and find the shutter and work back n forth with a cotton bud till it moves freely

As above...give it a good clean first with some carb cleaner before you get carried away buying a new one.

it doesnt cut out it sucks air thru all the time and makes it over rev?? do you think cleaning it will work??

if you cover the end the revs should return to normal :D

when i blocked the end it wanted to cut out?? not rev normal

yea clean it out with wd40 and card cleaner .. try it then .. i have done this twice .. works wonders £90 for a new one

With the air filter removed, it should suck quite loudly at idle rpm. And engine should stall if you block the hole. As mentioned, clean with card spray and check for hose leaks.

thanks for your help guys, its running a little bit better but still reving at about 2g! mat has got one so think ill just buy that!
im thinking of getting rid and getting a 182 now tho!!
