sombody has to tell me how to fix this!
car is starting to get wet!
depends where its leaking. sometimes you need to remove the frame and reseal this and sometimes its the glass leaking. need to pin this down first really. can you sit in the car and get someone to spray it with a hose. or do you still have a hosepipe ban.
wip out the inner seal that seals glass to frame, wash it thoroughly with warm water then coat it in vaseline, if that doesnt stop it then its frame out time and reseal that to the metal of the roof with silicone sealant
it is the inner seal that goes or when you have not used sunroof for a bit the seal stickes to glass and it pulls the seal out ..
cheak seal first around sunroof frame
just so you know ' your not alone ' mynes leaky too but all seems to collect in the interior light bit at the front then leak out when the cars moving :S any ideas?

Thats probably your ariel, mine did that, tightened ariel really hard, job done.
im guessing you have to remove the interior light to tighten the aerial??
yup i live in scotland and when ever it rains i get fookin soaked, so i ve had enough im stripping the whole sun roof out and putting in a sealed perspec sheet, should save some waight aswell
lol, i tightened up my aerial the other day, not because mine leaks, but because i could hear a lot of wind noise at high speed so thought it could be that.
My sunroof doesn't leak and never has done, and i've never done anything with it, however i did notice a bit of silicone has been used as you look at the frame of the sunroof when it's open, just at the front though.
Can get pics if it might help anyone stay dry!
Check the aerial though because mine was loose, didn't leak though, but i could see the circuit board has been wet before for the interior light..
might be a help to see where its been siliconed mate if you dont mind getting some piccys. I have this problem too that needs fixing
best silicone sealant to buy is called sikaflex...can be bought on ebay.
hopefully be doin mine at the weekend if it doesnt rain/snow.
im hopefully going to be fitting a new electric sun roof in mine as its dead. is it a total nightmare of a job?
its a fairly simple job imo....how do u mean its dead? whats wrong wi it

sikaflex is used for bonding panels,it is very thick and tricky to work with.
it dries almost like solid rubber, its hard ,almost imposs to get off once cured,it gets everywhere no matter how careful you are.
make sure to have some wd40 ready if you use it cos ive found thats the best way to get it off till its hard :D
im not sayin dont use it but i have and thats what happens

sikaflex is the daddy. we use it at work on the decks between the teak plank joins to seal them and on many other sealing/sticking applications 8) you need to make sure you get the right grade stuff too else it wont stick or will take weeks to dry. comes in an array of colours from white to black to brown etc lol
as lee keefy said, wd40 is about the only stuff you can use to get it off safely with. i use acetone at work , but i wouldn't on my car as it would have the paint off!!

oh, and use it sparingly if you do, as a little can go an awful long way

When you press the switch nothing happens. There has been water coming in and im guessin it has siezed the motor but managed to get a whole working one so gonna try change it
gonna try that first when i get the new one, just preparing for worst case scenario lol

where abputs to do have to actually seal? at a guess between the plastic trim around the sunroof and the gap between that and roof itself?

heres one i prepared earlier :D
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a341/justin_2k5/roof.jpg
done mines today with sikaflex..took 4 hrs ,sealed it to the roof aswell as the inside panel thing.also noticed the front side of the roof needed pushed up cos there was a slight gap when the sunroof was fully shut.
other problem is that not everyone of the 15 bolts could be fully tightened because the threaded (brass)collet things slip when tryin to get it really tight.
fingers crossed it works this time
