You could probably get it for that under your own name oncec you've had your license a year tbh. I've never driven an RSi though so I wouldn't really be able to say if I think it's worth it or not tbh.

seems a bit steep that. especially under your mums insurance! Who's that with?

if it's staying standard (which I doubt after the RT, lol) then try CIS - heard they give good quotes under a parents name. As I say though I found that my insurance in my own name on the RT dropped from £1800 to £800 overnight when I had had my license for a year, so maybe worth waiting till you've had it a year if it's not far off??

That was with elephant I got those prices btw.

Express insurance are not bad for young drivers.

Ring them tho, dont go off their online prices.

If you get it in your mums name you will be in the same situation next year, cos you wont have any no claims.

not necessarily. I've got no no claims and I can get insured on a valver for about £850 at 19 TPFT. Will have a years no claims in a few months though. The reason is that I went on my mums policy for my first year which saved me about £1200, and theres no way in hell 1 years no claims is going to help you by over £1200. I agree if you can afford it you should go in your own name, but given the choice again I would go undermy mums for the first year then under my own as the price comes down so much after driving for a year.
