Still getting the hang of Renualts so bare with me

I am after a 2ltr engine have seen som discussion on megane engines
had a quick punt about and ther are 2
2ltr 8V & 2 ltr 16V do they share common bottom end?
What differnce is there between Willi 2ltr and Megane 2ltr bottom end and head and power wise

Sorry if this is old ground.

final question as I have removed one, Clio 172 engines are dirt cheap are they hugley differnt mount wise

Lots of questions help appreciated

the 2.0l 16v bottom ends are not the same as the 20.l 8v ones.

very little real difference here, both willy and megane heads and bottom ends are interchangeable. the williams engine code is F7R A700 with the megane one being F7R 710. Both bottom ends should produce the same power, and if your lucky you may find a "quick" low mile megane bottom end which will be perfect for use with a williams or 1.8 16v head. The megane head will fit but needs the dizzy end on the exhaust camshaft machined to accept the williams dizzycap and rotor arm. megane heads are better as have slightly bigger inlet valves, and milder profile camshafts but still produce the same power output. a better base for tuning.

yeah, but it can be done

yeah bottom ends ok but if using megane engine you can use the cams and larger inlet valves in the 1.8 head for greater gains. also i think there are two megane codes 710 and 714 plus the willams 700 code.

dont think it an 8v will fit as water ways are different

a 2.0 8v lump is F3R and 16v is F7R
