View Full Version : Valver 54,000 Mile service.

Hi,

Valver is coming up to this mileage, ill be fooked if im paying a garage to service it.

Can someone tell me what items i need to change? Its one of the larger services, but it doesnt need cambelt or aux belt doing.

In my service book it says the following for major service:

oil change and filter
gearbox oil change
change brake fluid
fuel filter
Spark Plug replacement if needed

The rest is checking, brake pads, belts, tyres, heating, instruments etc etc.

Although my service book says the 54K service is not a major service, its 36K then 72K then 108K. The minor service is every 6K, major every 36K.

Usually I'm dead against garages but usually get fluid changes done for me. Let them get oily and burn themselves on hot engine bits!

My last major servie at Renault was over £400, although it did include cam belt replacement.

I've got every MOT since new, every service reciept and work done on the car, original bill of sale and full renault service history.

When you ahve that, its worth continuing it with Renault service.

Plus they put proper oil in your car, MOBIL!

Plus they put proper oil in your car, MOBIL!

Why?! Most of them don't know old Clios from their elbows! Plus it won't raise the value any more either.

i think its for peace mind knowin you are gauranteed if summat goes wrong. :)

sometimes its worth payin a bit extra to eliminate the cost of gettin your car fixed again after some "cheaper" garage f**ks it up,

speakin from a very expensive personal experience!!!!!!!!
