Hi chaps I have my 72k service approaching and i need an idea of what i should get done?

I have had my gearbox oil changed recently along with coolant and brake fluid so this will be ok. Oh also power steering fluid is new.

The dissy cap and rotor arm are new.

Brake discs, pads and tyres are fine.

My list of service parts : -

Cam Belts & tensioners
New Water pump (Is this advisable?)
Distributor leads
Oil Change, filter & sump plug washer
Spark plugs

Anybody think of anything else i need to do or require?

Cheers

Rich

Cheers mate.

Where should i get parts from?

The cambelt and tensioner kit is £54.00 excl VAT form GSF? Im not sure if this will be a Renault OEM kit?

The water pump looks as if i can only get it from Renault, does this come with a seal kit & how much does it cost?

wont be a genuine kit at that price mate but imo a cambelt is a cambelt! they prob will supply a gates belt with it anyway (what renault use) and the tensioners will be more than ok for the job

Deffo advise doing the water pump, most motor factors sell them tho as they're common on most F type blocks.

What about the Aux belt ?

Hi guys i just got a quote from a mate who's old man owns an authorised renault garage. Nick has had a couple of Williams so knows what he is doing.

Got the following quote from him : -

Cam belt and tensioners £92.55 (Renault OEM parts)
Water Pump £38.35 (Renault OEM parts)
Coolant £15.00
Labour £120.00 (to fit water pump and cambelt kit)

Total cost £270.00

Is this resonable?

Very reasonable indeed. Definately go for it.

my cam belt fitting cost was £300 !!!! Also Renault the previous time they have changed it didnt bother to change the pre tensioner which he said was another hour on its own.
