no noise..... we need the noise..

I'd rather op for speed when engine is at normal operating temp though  plus all "induction kits" will make the same noise, its all to do with the inlet, throttle body etc that makes the noise as the air gets squeezed into the small space. Adding an open air filter removes 2 of the 3 purpose's of an air filter. Allow cold engine to enter the inlet when engine is warm, make the engine run quieter under full load.

obviously this is just my oppinion. I have been there before, i think we all have

I had a heatwrapped airbox on with a direct cold air feed from the fog light position.

Far better than a IK

The sound from my engine now is crazy with a standard airbox after a few mods to the head. To be honest, I may change my exhaust for something quieter...Be seen and not heard 8)

if you want noise just take the pipe off the bottom of the air box. that will give it an IK like roar as the sound resonates inside the airbox

there are plenty of people looking for a standard airbox mate. Im sure if you post up in the wanted section for an open air filter trade for standard airbox, alot of people would (thats if you have the air box) i know i would! 8)

The noise on my std airbox without the lower pipe connected has always been pretty good. They make a very strange noise above 4k and it sounds like it's going supersonic.

Sadly it doesn't. :P

I use BMC CDA with 90 degree bend to stainless steel Ktec inlet manifold adapter, then crankcase breather to sepereate BMC breather. No pics though I will post soon as I can, see what you all think. Used BMC on last three cars, each using different fit kits, I love it cos its different and an exceptionally well made product.

I had a direct feed with the inner quad connected to the viper, i gained 5 bhp over what it was before from this, i now have a modified OE airbox with an itg filter and it pulls alot better, i dont have any pics at the mo as the car is offline, not much sound but great performance. will try and get some pics, but the car is off the road for winter.
