it depends on what u want to do

if you d/l a film off the net it will probably be xvid or divx or summat so will need converting to dvd format( i use a prog called convert to dvd)
if your dvd player can play divx or mpeg u can just burn the dvd disk as a data disk
dioing it that way u can fit 6 x 700mb films on 1 disk
u will have to see if yours will burn divx or just normal dvd's

well it takes usually 9-10 hours may be more
doing that with nero .
burning them as data files sound faster and efficent .

what about "windows movie" files ??
do most dvd players play them ??

its easy peasy i use.......

dvd decrypter (decrypts the dvd copyright protection)

then use

dvd shrink (to shrink the dvd file size down to 4.6 gigs) and burn using dvd shrink as well.

and with downloaded dvd files(avi, xvid, divx) i convert them using divx2dvd converter.

by the way, i only backup my original films!!!!!!!!!!

yeah i did my mums last week, she wanted to play some region 1 dvd's and all i had to do was open the draw on the player press the clear button and add a code :D

region free, but i guess this would only work on medion players and not all
