guys what should the compression fig be in bar for an engine which has done 145K? [having a compresion test done next week] also what should the oil pressure be? do you need to take the engine out to get the head off?? cheers for anyone who can answer the above.

Oil Pressure should be 3.5bar @ 3000 rpm.

Head off is easy enough in the car.

I'll look on autodata cd for more info.

around 200 psi (13/14bar). shouldnt be loads of variationj tho...thats the main thing.

Dont forget to keep the throttle open whilst doing it!

Hi. I'm snakeylady's daughters b/f, so i'm looking at the clio. Sorry to register on here when i don't drive a clio, but thought it would be quicker this way.
Compression is fine then, with 13-13.5 bar on three cylinders and about 12.75 on the last, which isn't too bad. But i think the valve stem oils seals may be worn, is that common on these at 145k?
Finally, that oil pressure figure, we're not getting that much, but what oil is that with?
Thanks.

Hello mate :D You were the one at the ipswich meet with the very illegal number plates right?
Thanks for the welcome, my cars coming along well, aiming for 330bhp @ wheels. And can adjust boost in car!

With 10/40 we're only getting about 2 bar. I'll look in to that!
Fatboy, i'm thinking of taking my front plate off completely, obstructs the intercooler. Think the police will mind?! :P

oil pressure on these are a bit funny tho, mine ran much lower pressure from cold than all other Williams, but once warm it wouldn't go to near zero like I see them doing on other peoples... I think the grade of oil plays a major part in the oil pressure, my old engine ran like a bag of shite with 5w 40, 10-15w 40/50 was the prefered choice.
