finaly changing my valver gearbox to a williams, got all the box off, new clutch fitted and aligned. then the problem went to put the new box on and there was a 2mm gap all the way round between the box and engine, i pushed the box but it seemed stuck so i put all the bolts in and done up evenly there was not alot of resistance and the box pulled right upto the engine.
is this normal or have i done something wrong i have checked al the allignment collars all studs and nuts thrust bearing i just cant see a problem also checked the clutch was in the right way
Nope thats perfectly normal
Clutch will onyl go in one way round

great thats what i wanted to hear.
is there any easy way of realigning the gear selector ?
What do you mean by re-aligning it??
Connect the clutch cable and pump the pedal alot (10-20 times) and it automatically tnesions the cable up
lunner he's talking about the gear selector not clutch cable!
which 13mm bolt did u undo? the one under the rubber boot or the one further back? the one under therubber boot it will just line straight back up, if its the other u will have to play about with it, might be easyier to put the box into 3rd or 4th, and then put the gear lever roughtly were you think it is, and goes through all the gears
