Had a bit of hassle getting my engine out the other day (yes I am one of the unlucky ones that has got ABS :( ). Basically I've damaged the brake lines that run to the ABS unit and need to replace them.

I have two options....

1). Replace them with std pre-bent OEM items.
2). Replace them with some custom bent copper piping.

Can you anyone shed any advantages of doing option number 2? I would like to do this option as I could possibly route them a little better for later engine removal.

Thanks,

Craig

number 2, cheaper and as you said you can put them where you want, need a pipe bender, cutter and a flairer though

Thats a point, wouldn't take that much to remove the ABS, and i'll bet money your brake lines are corroded too

Surprisingly the lines aren't corroded (which makes a change on the damn thing!).

Does anybody know the dia of copper needed off the top of their heads?

Looks like number 2 is going to be the option. On the other hand, I would remove the ABS but I've never had any quarms using it or having it there (yet.....)
