View Full Version : Power Steering Leak
got one on unions at column/rack joint, think theres like 4 or 5 pipes, caused by loose rack mounts ot subframe, so rack slid and unseated the unions i guess
question, do i need new o rings n if so part no? or can i get away with just nippin the nuts up?!
cheers

Don't need any seals but its a bit unusual for a union to be unseated by rack movement? You sure one of the pipes hasn't split slightly? If not just tighten the union, you might need a union spanner to avoid rounding it off though...

The unions seize onto the pipe lol end up trying to turn all the pipe, as me and rich found out lol

i agree, one of the worst jobs i'd tackled, especially when you dont research it and find out half way thru the job that manual and power parts arnt interchangable

Piss easy, esp when you have researched it and have all the parts off the car and lined up and the engine, subframe etc etc out
found another leak, went to change sidelight bulbs, dropped one into bay so whipped out headlight to look for it and low n behold bloody pump has leak on the solid pipe union n all, ****s sake
