Clutch pedal change

How do's everyone

I'm attempting to change my clutch pedal on my valver this weekend as i suspect the ratchet and claw mechanism on the top are not functioning correctly.

Is there any easy way of doing this replacement? or any hints and guides that anyone could send my way?

Also when i removed the faciure theyre is a large black piece of polastic covered in foam, is this a feed from the heater matrix for the right hand side blower?, if so can i remove it for better access to the pedal area?

Sit upside down feet on the roof of the car and work liek that.

Its a bit of a pain to do.
