can anyone identify what this is for?

it comes from the near side light and the head of the cable (as shown in pic) is near the battery




only thing electrical missing from my car is fog's...could that b it?

aye,that'll be it,remember a mechanic at Renault plugging something into it on my old valver,said he was resetting the computers?
