Yesterday i changed my old alternator (was giving 12V at idle and 13 when pressing the throttle pedal) with a new one ( not an original tho,not recondition) but i check it and it was exactly the same but 60A than 50 that was the previous.So i put it on..........and what i saw was 14,7V when idle and rising when pressing the throttle to over 15,3 :roll: :roll: :roll:
What the hell is going on???Is it faulty too :cry:
My battery is almost dead,is that explain that voltage (trying to charge the battery?)

Never seen charging voltage run that high before. I checked out wikipedia for info on lead acid battery and found the data below:

* Continuous-preservation (float) charging: 13 - 13.2 V
* Typical (daily) charging: 13.2 - 14.4 V
* Gassing threshold: 14.4 V
* After full charge the terminal voltage will drop quickly to 13.2 V and then slowly to 12.6 V.

I think it means 14.7V to 15.3 is too high a charging voltage to the battery.
