hi.. i have a phase 1 16v and it has a de-cat on it. had it up on the ramps the other day and noticed that the de-cat pipe flange were it meets the down-pipe...sits very near to the gear selector arm....would this explain that i find it difficult to select reverse sometimes...maybe the exhaust isnt alligned correctly ????? any ideas...what make de-cat do people normaly go for ..cheers

its possible. You need to have somebody put it in reverse whilst up on the ramp so you can have a look and see whether they touch. They do sit quite close anyway but youll know for sure if you watch it!

The other thing to remember is that its quite common for difficult reverse selection on the 16v unless car is stationary.
