I remember when we were at Oulten and Craggy had one in his VTS, just wondering how much they cost and are they worth it, anyone?

Im sure Mark, Martin and 2live would have had a look at one of these especially 2live!lol

big bucks mate, last time Jon had a look at teh possibilty of a group buy, the best we could get was circa 5k! I'm working on something at the minute though, an old contact who is a gearbox specialist mentioned something about a custom striaght cut box for 2k, gonna see if i can still hold him to it

yer thought they might be, whats the major advantages of them apart from the noise!!!

They are generally stronger and have less transmission losses in comparison to a helical cut box.

Even at £2k though its still a load of money to spend on a box for the Clio.

less transmission loss, and stronger as Mark said. 2k is still expensive but if its costing £500 for a recon box every season, and im running more power then ever, so im very tempted to go for something that will last....

Danny, car is being mapped as i type this, latest update, it started first time on a basic map that Ben had prepared, sound is meant to be out of this world.
Spoken to my contact today, he is willing to build some dog boxes with straight cut gears......he's making some phone calls today, and he's getting back to me. Don't worry 2Live i've got one ordered for you too!
Basically, he said transmission loss will be dow to as little as 5%.............

Thats a fair chunk of power at the wheels to gain if the transmission losses are reduced that much.....sounds good. Should be for £2,000 I spose...

He said between 5-10%, normal transmision loss is 18%iirc? Can make quite a bit of difference! I'll be interested anyway, i owuld imagine 2Live is as well, just need to get the exact spec and price off him. An LSD would be a good addition as well but we could be talking silly money then!

well, if they can discount the cost of the LSD and do the lot for say £2500 including fitting then i'd be very interested... otherwise I'll let you lot buy em and see how long it takes you to break em
