How full should it actually be?? :?:
nope, its fine. should be just above the little white marks in the middle of the picture there (like yours is) remember the fluid moves up and down a tad when you turn lock to lock and needs expansion room for when she gets hot! lot of pressure running through there and it will move more easy when the fluids hot

Could it be a loose belt??
clio's suffer noisy power steering pumps...only cure is reconditioning or refurbishing.

:(
It's always been fine, it's just started in the last couple of weeks! I was hoping it was just fluid, but obviously not...
I can't afford a new pump as well as a service, rear calipers, possible head gasket...
you copuld try a little more fluid if it stopped it before, but dont go mad, dotn fillit over the slots on the outside of the inside if you get me

I'm with you on that one, yes - but seems a bit of a waste of £8 for a massive bottle of the slick50 stuff or whatever when I'll be using about 50ml LoL
Still, would be cheaper than a new pump... :?
correct, its only a fiver for a 1litre bottle anyway! and you can get 500ml bottles fropm gsf iirc

its about 8-9 quid a litre in halfrauds! ripp off merchants i used to pick up a bottle of ATF (same stuff as p/s fluid if you didnt know) from my local jet garage for 4.99 a litre

Rich is wrong, as is Haynes. Fluid should be at the top of the vanes. If renault hadn't placed the bottle where they did you'd see the min/max markings on the front side (under the headlight upper mounting). The max mark corresponds to the top of the vanes.

my apologies then, i have always been led to believe that is where it should be, people who have filled it up as high as you say it goes have always ended up with fluid pissing out the top in my experience. as does mine, maybe its just cos i've got a good pump it does it on mine :P
take swerv's advoce then mate and ignore mine

I only found out fella after draining mine alst year to overcome the pissing out trouble.
Then it moaned like a bitch. Whilst pissing around with it I found those markings which slash all over the Haynes advice.
:P
yeah mine is always just under the max, but go on track and loose 1/2 the stuff down ur o/s/f wing! LOL
