Basically the bottom end of the engine needs rebuilding.
Mat.
thanks for that info, how much would this cost?
i have set aside 2 grand for a williams but this one on autotrader is for 1300 on a m plate. mmm maybe not worth the trouble???
if you cant rebuild the engine yourself you are looking at easily 1300 upwards.....
It will 99% need a new crank...they always do since the crank pin journal can only be ground once under-size.

usually you can tell how badly the big ends are ****ed by feelin the crank.. it should be smooth like cam lobes..when they have been knocking/****ed they will be rough ..

the bottom end can be re-built for cock all by engine express based in edenfield.

Like i said,...it will likely need a new crank!
On these cranks you can only grind 0.25mm undersize on the big-ends...thats proper measuring Gibbo, not witha finger-ometer  This means if the damage is greater than that, which they always seem to be, then the crank is US.
where your engine is concerned its not the place to be cheap, hey Stan.
LOL
Is that £200 if you just send them your bare block tho? As it would cost a lot more if the lad needed somebody to take engine out, strip it and put it back in
