Just relax. My F7R been doing that for 11 years. I just leave the engine bay oily all the time, that's all.

so it wasnt the head gasket mush? thats good news if not, but you muppet for thinking it in the first place  you should do it old skool like me and just put the oil in and let the engine warm a bit to seal the gasket before putting coolant in ect, just to be sure its sealed properly

weird. I've never had an oil leak once my old valver was rebuilt nor did it burn oil or leak any water for the rest if the time i had it (about 10months). I don't know what their new clio's are like although I have been told they go through exhausts and engine mounts like nothing else. I have replaced several Coil Packs on the newer clio's aswell, they don't seem to clever. One clio had 21K on the clock and a coil pack went down  I do rate the mk1's though for total fun!

right peeps, things are starting to look up and this engine will be complete, i found the leak which appeared to be cam oil seals, which hopefully the new ones will be here tomorrow then the engine is complete, so beware england the hybrid will drive again

My mates Mrs has got a 55 plate clio and the coil pack went on that the other week! lol.

lol mate they are so shocking. My ex girlfriends went at 45K on a 51 plate  she rang me up. I went out to it and it was running on 3 cylinders. I told her she couldn't drive it the 15miles back to her house unless she had a few hundred quid spare for a new cat. She went mad, fixed it and sold it 8) Mk1's are the way forward (altough I wouldn't mind driving the 172 cup or Trophy sometime)

Did you order the right size as there are two?

Mat.

Bayliss
01-12-2006, 00:47
yeah, measured mine and rang stan and he said what the fault would be before i'd even investigated, and it turned out they where wrong size, so ordered the 42mm ones, mine where 40mm's and they where spinning with cam, hence them being to small

stan
01-12-2006, 00:51
when he says ordered, he means blagged :D

Bayliss
