Right basically it sounds like my o/s CV joint is going to grenading it's self. Should I just change it (is this a difficult job?) or should I put valver shafts on off the donor car, depending on how difficult it is?

thanks.

If its the joint gone then defo easier to fit a new shaft, isn't really that difficult if you have some experience! Make sure the shaft your fitting has cv boots that aren't split though and take care to give the donor one too much abuse when fitting as they can split easier than u think!!

got the procedure for doing it mate? Haynes always makes it look so hard! Should I slap a load of grease in the donors' boots?

Shouldn't need to put grease in unless they are split?? Not sure on how to do the drivers side I've only ever changed the n/s! But would have thought it would be half the same eg wheel/disc/hub nut off, then track rod end off the hub, 2 strut bolts off then pull the shaft out the hub.. then I think you have to use a punch to remove a pin holding the shaft in the other end not sure though...

Its pretty easy to swap the o/s shaft as long as the nuts come off ok.

It is just nuts or are there specialist tools needed? Is one side easier than the other? Do i have to drain the oil or anything?

Don't have to drain the oil for drivers side, u need a punch to get the pin out though and a new pin apparently
