Out the top with the engine or out the bottom. what would you say is the quickest i've always taken it out the top but just wondered about doing it the other way :roll:

I was an out the top man!!!

But if the subframe plays nice ...it's quicker imo

now im a bottom man!!!

subframe off all four bolts let it hangdown.. remove box.. quick and easy, used this method this year.. ive tried every other way,, this imo is the best lol,

do you remove the steering rack to lower the subframe. and take it fully off or not.

well took a weekend to change a box , flywheel and clutch with me and a mate takin it outta the top. would it be any quicker or just plain easier ?

subframe off and out bottom!! didnt take long to change the box in williams!

Ive always taken them out the top, usually because im changing the engine. takes about 7hours, I know im slow Stan :lol: but i like to take my time and have tee :lol:

think bayliss holds the record for a box change..cant remember the time but it was rapid.. i was on course..until the subframe catchment cgae snapped :-(

i think the record for me changing a box in the car on a valver to strip down to take out bottom using a lift etc was 2.5 hours and putting in is about same as long as box goes on no problem (lining clutch up)

Took me 3hours to get it out friday night (from 4-7) and i was outside in the dark with a big light :lol:

then took me 3hours to put it all back in, lining the box up on ya own is fun :roll: plus it was raining and i got soaked through to the bone :cry:

o well had to be done :wink:

Muahaha i have done it in 4 ish hours, mind you it was the second box in the same F***IN day! subframe every time
