Have you got the old starter off? If you can get a valeo number i should be able to get you one for reasonable price (if we stock it, i havent checked yet as i have never needed one) as i just so happen to work for a company selling starters and alternators. I doubt it will be genuine valeo though.
How much have you been quoted for one? Just out of interest.

Only played up a couple of hours ago so it's still on the car....I'm sure danny picked one up for 77 quid or so from renault.

If it's the one i think it is, it shouldnt be more than £30 + vat and postage.
I'm about 80% sure its the one i think but could do with the part numbers to be sure. It will be brand new not rebuilt but as i said it probs wont be genuine valeo and i know some people will only use genuine parts.

dont suppose anyones got the renault part number have they? would be useful to know which one it is. Im guessing it would be the same unit as a valver?!
We dont mess about with exchanges, all brand new and outright :D

be careful when supplying them though bluenose as valver and williams starters are different items, williams one is smaller :)

No it's different to the 16v starter....yeah 90 minus discount 77 quid. Not 180 quid.....

How much is the Cat2 costing?
Is it not worth getting a Cat1 alarm fitted instead?
Worth it in the long run, trust me i found out the hard way.

cat2 is 100 fitted, cat1 is 200 fitted......when you are utilising your overdraft it's a no brainer!

would it be the same unit as fitted to the megane? It's a sod to get hold of it is, looks like a renault only job. Not many of them floating round in the aftermrket for sum reason.

I got my new starter solenoid from these guys: http://www.woodauto.com/

They sell all the components seperately, as well as refurbed and new starters/alts.

Very highly recommend them, cheap as well.

i have a megane starter motor you can have mate, as long as you pay the postage, came from a 60k engine fully working (no proof) but the engine was fine when it went in..
